In addition to basic infectious disease research, the Gillgrass lab aims to use humanized mouse models to explore other immunological areas and concerns. We are exploring the use of our model in both vaccine research (TB vaccines) as well as cancer therapeutics (oncolytic viruses). This pre-clinical work is a vital step forwards in translational research - that is, applying basic science to benefit overall human health!
