OVERVIEW

The Gillgrass Lab’s primary research focus is on immunology, humanized mice and infectious disease.  Current projects involve using humanized mouse models to investigate HIV, TB, HIV/TB co-infection and cancer.  We aim to understand disease pathogenesis and immune responses as well as develop therapeutics (vaccines/immunotherapeutics) to improve disease outlook and possibly cure.

Galvanized by the ongoing pandemic and given the lab's specializations in infectious diseases and humanized mouse models, we are also participating in the development and testing of a next-generation mucosal COVID-19 vaccine.
